The first
event of the Springfield Tri Fest is on July
24, 2010 at 10am. This event for children aged 5 to 13 is called
the Dew the Tri for Kids. This wonderful event,
an intermediate course race, for kids starts with a 100 yard swim inside
Nelson Center at Lincoln Park. The
kids then bike 1.1 miles inside the Park followed by a 1000 yard run. An awards ceremony for boys and girls
will follow after the last runner crosses the finish
line.

The transition area is restricted to racers only.

traffic.
Run is 1000 yards on grass inside the Park.

Course Information
All events take place in Lincoln Park located on the North side of Springfield Illinois off of Sangamon Avenue.
Registration and packet pickup is located at the parking area south of Nelson
Pool in Lincoln
Park. The
race is chip timed.
TRANSITION
AREA
Racers are body marked at the entrance to
the transition area. Only racers
are permitted in the transition area.
Racers are to affix their bike to the bike racks based on their race
number. At the conclusion of the
event, bike numbers will be matched with race numbers as they exit the
transition area. Water and Gatorade is available in the transition area.
SWIM
COURSE ( 100 YARDS)
The swim takes place in Nelson Pool. Each swimmer swims 100 yards total down
and back clockwise fashion in their assigned lane. Waves commence every 30 seconds. Swimmers exit the pool and proceed 100
yards west to the transition area.
BIKE
COURSE ( 1.1 MILE)
The bike ride starts as the racer exits the
transition area with helmet fastened and turns right onto the road and goes 1.1
miles clockwise around the perimeter of Lincoln Park. There is one hill on the course. Bikers
complete their ride and enter the transition to return their bike their position
in the bike racks. The racer exits
the transition area to start the run portion of the
race.
RUN COURSE
( 1000 YARDS)
The run starts as the racer exits the
transition area and proceeds counter clockwise along the marked course on grass
for 1000 yards. The finish line is near the transition area.
